Meet the Team

Doug Stewart has been involved in land based and environmental education for over 30 years, in roles as disparate as Production Unit Manager, Head of Horticulture at one of the UK’s leading land based colleges, and as a marketing manager.
For the past 10 years Doug has been combining his communication, educational and marketing skills as a consultant. He currently works with organisations of varying sizes, with turnovers from £20 000 - £35 million across the UK.
Current projects include the development of business benchmarking clubs for SMEs in rural locations, the development and delivery of training solutions and most recently the development of eILP software (Electronic Individual Learning Plans) for a learning partnership of Colleges and Secondary Schools.

Sheri-Leigh Miles has contributed to the evolution of Sustainable Development (SD) in the UK Further and Higher Education (FHE) sector for over 12 years. As a member of the SD steering groups for both the LSC and HEFCE she played a role in shaping the early national policy for this Agenda. This strategic work was carried out during her tenure as EAUC National Convenor.
As an experienced sustainability practitioner herself with experience of both FE and HE she has worked most recently as part of the multi-award winning Ecoversity StuDent team. Since the successful completion of this project, she has been working as a freelance consultant sharing her expertise with a number of institutions and organisations.

Andy Newton is the only member of the Waring Stewart team to have previously worked as a pirate. However Andy is keen to point out that this was on a pleasure boat sailing off the Scarborough coast. We are not so sure. As well as a life on the ocean wave Andy has over 25 years of experience as a graphic designer and has been working with Doug for the past 12 years.

Dale Baxter has recently joined Waring Stewart Associates having worked for in the IT and broadcast industries developing databases, websites and IT systems that exceed client expectations.
Dale brings a wealth of experience to WSA and further strengthens our team. He is also the only one of us to own a coat with 26 pockets for all of his gadgets!
